Here's how Samsung's three upcoming foldables compare in size

by · Android Police

Rumors about Samsung's upcoming foldables are now reaching an all-time high. With no other major smartphone release in sight, the focus is, clearly, on Samsung's upcoming foldables, and from what we already know, we'll see three devices grace the big stage.

The regular iterative upgrades for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will be there, but in terms of naming, the lineup will look a little different.

The Z Flip 7 successor will be called the Z Flip 8, as expected. However, Samsung's Galaxy Fold 7 successor will go by "Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra." That's mainly because Samsung is also releasing an all-new widescreen foldable this time around, and that device will take up the regular Fold name.

The widescreen foldable will be called the Galaxy Z Fold 8, and up until now, we've only had a rough idea about how wide the upcoming device might be. That, however, changed earlier today!

Visualize the real-world scale

Thanks to credible global tech analyst Ice Universe on X (via AndroidHeadlines), we now have a look at screen protectors for the upcoming trio. This is the best real-world scale example we've seen, especially to scale the upcoming devices against each other.

For starters, this all-but-confirms that the regular Z Fold 7 successor will be called the Z Fold 8 Ultra. Elsewhere, it also confirms that the widescreen foldable will be noticeably shorter than the regular Fold, complete with a much wider aspect ratio. The Z Flip 8 appears to retain its standard look.

Judging by the screen protectors, it is clear that Samsung is opting to go for a 'one-handed foldable use narrative,' with it looking to release its device before Apple comes out with its first foldable, which is also reported to be wider than standard foldables.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8, Z Fold 8, and Z Fold 8 Ultra will be unveiled at Samsung's rumored Unpacked event on July 22, alongside the Galaxy Watch 9 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.
