Google Wallet event tickets are about to look a lot better

While tons of other Android apps and services tend to get more of the spotlight, Google Wallet is one that is very hard to ignore. You can use it to hold your important credit and debit cards, but it can also pretty much replace your physical wallet at this point. It's a powerful app that can really keep your life in order if you decide to utilize it to its fullest.

We've seen a number of powerful updates hit the app over the past week, and we're now getting another, thanks to some work done by Ticketmaster (via 9to5Google). The brand is set to roll out "customizable Google Wallet tickets" that will give artists, venues and events the ability to add a little more life to digital passes found on Android phones.

An elevated experience is coming

Ticketmaster shares on its website that it will be the "first ticketing partner to offer enhanced, customizable Google Wallet tickets." As mentioned above, this will allow clients to customize their passes for a better experience. It's a small detail, but with paper tickets not being as widely used anymore, this could be a change that could have a big impact.

In addition to the new look, Ticketmaster also shares that clients will be able to add "custom imagery and action links." Clients will be able to add up to 12 different links, providing a wealth of information that can help ticket holders prior to and at the event. Furthermore, it states that the new change will allow tickets to become "a reliable source of event information and a direct connection to fans."

Some examples that Ticketmaster shares are having the parking information on the pass, along with venue guidelines. Clients can also add information about entry points to the venue, links to merchandise, seat upgrades, and more. Not only is this change just to make the digital passes look better, but it could also become a revenue driver.

And you know that the last one is important, especially for a brand like Ticketmaster. Naturally, you should see this rolling out over time, but it will depend on whether Ticketmaster clients adopt it. As a user, there's nothing that needs to be done on your end. This might not be in time for the World Cup, but maybe we'll see this in action soon, especially with major events like the Olympics in Los Angeles coming up.
