The Flowtica Verso e-paper AI recorder is coming for $199 with early reservations
by Mark Jansen · Android PoliceAI recorders are a breed of device that hasn't exactly taken the world by storm. But Flowtica's Verso could be the device that changes that — and we now have official availability dates and prices for it, so you can see for yourself.
The Verso may not be a device you've heard of, but we took it for a spin at IFA 2026 last month, and we were impressed enough to put it on our IFA 2026 Best in Show list.

A recorder that attaches to your phone
On hand, whenever you need it
We've seen AI-powered recorders in all shapes and sizes, from lapel pins to Flowtica's previous product, the Flowtica Scribe pen. But there's something neat about the Verso. It doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is; a gadget that fits into one hand, and records using four MEMS microphones and a bone-conduction microphone. Recordings can be started with a single tap of a button, and it'll isolate up to 15 different speakers.
It has an e-paper display that sips power, and will be good for up to 72 hours of use. As you'd expect, that screen shows you summaries and transcripts of your recordings, helpfully provided by the onboard AI.
But it's not just good for recordings. The display can also be used to display calendar events, to-do lists, and AI insights. It's very clearly the sort of device for a busy person who needs to keep track of stuff like that, and it's heavily tailored to them.
Unfortunately, while it seems like a device that would be perfectly suited to also being an e-reader, there's no e-reader app on it. Which is a real shame.
A Flowtica app is available for both iOS and Android, and that'll give you even more control over the device and what's sent to it. The device has magnets in the back, which means it'll be able to attach to Apple's MagSafe magnets. It's currently not known whether it'll attach to a Pixel's Pixelsnap magnets, but it seems likely, given how cross-compatible those tend to be.
It's very much a niche product, to my mind. But, if it seems like something you could use, then it's worth taking a look at it.
The Flowtica Verso will be available from November 17, and during its launch period it'll be available for $224.25 for a limited time. The regular price is $299, so that's a decent discount.
However, if you're even quicker off the mark, then you can get an even larger discount. If you place a reservation for $10 between October 19 and November 16, then you'll be able to grab the device for just $199. You'll also get other reservation benefits, though Flowtica hasn't specified what those will be.
It's also worth keeping in mind that Flowtica has a subscription service, and you'll need to subscribe to it if you want unlimited recording time, or increased time from the free plan. However, if you're interested in investing in the Verso, then it's likely you'll get enough use out f it for the subscription to be worth the money.
