The Clicks Communicator is getting a serious battery boost and Android 17 right out of the box
by Karandeep Singh Oberoi · Android PoliceClicks is making a phone. Yes, Clicks, the company that makes those attachable QWERTY keyboard cases that first went viral in 2024.
For reference, the company started out with cases for iPhones only. The company subsequently expanded to cases for Android phones. Now, the company is diving deeper into the Android ecosystem, but instead of a new accessory, it is gearing up to launch a full-fledged QWERTY keyboard phone called the Clicks Communicator.

We already know that the device is coming later this year. In Q4, to be specific. When the company announced the Clicks Communicator's release timeline, it said that it would share more about the device sometime in May.
That time is here now.
As highlighted by the folks over at DroidLife, Clicks has begun emailing pre-order holders with critical information about the Communicator, and it looks like the phone wouldn't simply be a novelty device.

For starters, the device will launch with Android 17 out of the gate. The operating system (OS), which is still in beta, is expected to be widely available by the time the Clicks Communicator comes knocking.
This means the device wouldn't have to play post-release catch up.
Elsewhere, the other key detail is that the device will boast a 4,450mAh silicon-carbon battery, which is up from the 4,000mAh capacity that was initially announced. This marks an 11.25 percent increase in the reported battery capacity.
We're expecting to learn more about the device over the coming months.
If you're eyeing the Clicks Communicator, and would like to reserve one now, you have two main options:
- You can pay a $199 reserve deposit and get priority access to the device when it comes out. You'll have to pay the remaining balance when the phone comes out.
- Or, you can pay the full $499 device cost to reserve the device and score an additional back cover ($50 value) for free.
