More Samsung Galaxy phones pick up AirDrop support through Quick Share
by Chethan Rao · Android PoliceWhile devices like the Galaxy S26 launched with the Android 16-based One UI 8.5 software out of the box, older Samsung devices are still stuck in beta. This means that the list of Galaxy devices that can officially support the recently added Quick Share-AirDrop integration is fairly small.

Now, Samsung is finally bringing AirDrop support via Quick Share for its 2024 and 2025 flagships, provided they're running the One UI 8.5 beta update. The company shared this info while announcing the beta's expansion to cover more devices, including the Galaxy S23 (via 9to5Google).
Here's the full list of devices that now support AirDrop through Quick Share with One UI 8.5 beta:
- Galaxy S25
- Galaxy S25 Plus
- Galaxy S25 Ultra
- Galaxy Z Fold 7
- Galaxy Z Flip 7
- Galaxy S24
- Galaxy S24 Plus
- Galaxy S24 Ultra
- Galaxy Z Fold 6
- Galaxy Z Flip 6
Samsung also notes that the "availability and timing" may differ depending on where you live, so don't be surprised if you're not seeing Quick Share/AirDrop support right away.
Not all Galaxy flagships support cross-platform file sharing yet
Although the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Flip 5 now support the One UI 8.5 beta, they are not included in the list of devices that support the cross-platform file-sharing solution. It's unclear whether this could change in the future. But as it stands, the feature is limited to a handful of Pixel phones and over a dozen Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S26 series.
While the Galaxy S25 series has been part of the One UI 8.5 beta program since December, the same treatment has since been extended to cover Samsung's older flagships. The first major expansion of the program in late March brought the manufacturer's 2024 flagships under the umbrella.

This recent expansion covers the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and the Galaxy A36 5G. Samsung says the update will be available in "a phased manner" in the US, UK, India, and South Korea. The company is also promising to add more devices to the beta program later this month, though no specific details were provided.
