New S27 Pro leak reveals Samsung's answer to the Ultra problem: smaller phone, bigger battery

by · Android Police

Last year, rumors suggested that Samsung was ready to bridge the gap between standard dimensions and bleeding-edge 'Ultra' level tech with a new 'Pro' model.

The S26 Pro never came, but the South Korean tech giant might just be making up for its absence with the Galaxy S27 series.

Early leaks and rumors have already started indicating that Samsung is working on a Pro model for its 2027 S series lineup, and now a fresh leak has given us more hints about some of the device's reported specs.

From what we already know, the S27 Pro will share the same specs as its Ultra sibling, but without S Pen support and with a smaller screen. The device could also feature the S26 Ultra's Privacy Display.

Now, the latest leak surrounding the upcoming device suggests that the S27 Pro's display will measure in at 6.5-inches, which happens to be bigger than the base S26 and smaller than the S26+.

The latter sports a 4,900mAh cell while the former is powered by a 4,300mAh battery. According to tipster kro on X (via SammyGuru), the S27 Pro, all while being physically smaller than the S26+, will feature a bigger 5,000mAh battery. That's the same battery size as the Galaxy S26 Ultra's cell.

It is unclear if the Pro device will feature the Ultra-level 60W charging, or if it will be limited to 45W charging like the S26+.

Although not certain, as ripple effect, the S27 Ultra could finally boast a cell bigger than 5,000mAh.

Take these early rumors with a grain of salt. The S27 series isn't expected until January or February of 2027.
