Galaxy A27 leak reveal Samsung's budget phone is finally getting a modern look

by · Android Police

Samsung's Unpacked event is next month, and while the hype around the South Korean tech giant's foldables is at an all-time high, not everyone is looking to spend over $1,000 on a new phone.

Fortunately, Samsung hasn't forgotten about its budget-conscious audience, and that is clear from these new Galaxy A27 renders that just leaked.

For reference, the Galaxy A37 and A57 landed earlier this year, and it might just be time for the A27 now. If you want a smartphone that feels modern, but you don't want to break the bank, this might be the phone for you.

The folks over at DigitalCitizen (via AndroidAuthority) secured renders and marketing material for the upcoming device, and they reveal a lot.

When compared to its predecessor, the new device has one main physical change that's apparent at a glance. It's the front camera, as seen in the images below.

The Galaxy A26 featured a front notch to house the selfie camera. The Galaxy A27 features a cleaner pinhole design.

Apart from that, the new phone looks almost the same as its predecessor, with slight tweaks to the rear camera layout.

Galaxy AI might be trickling down

Elsewhere, the renders showcase the upcoming phone in three colors: Pink, Navy Blue, and Black. The Galaxy A26, on the other hand, was available in Black, White, Mint, Peach Pink.

The device's marketing material also makes it clear that the A27 will not feature an upgrade in the battery department. The A26 runs on a 5,000mAh cell, and the same will be the case with the Galaxy A27.

The marketing material also highlights a chip with the words "CPU," "GPU," and "NPU" on it, complete with an image highlighting Circle to Search, which suggests the arrival of AI features, potentially even the Samsung-exclusive ones that the company markets as 'Galaxy AI.'

It isn't entirely clear when the new phone will come out. Considering that the A26 came out in March last year, we'd expect the A27 to hit shelves anytime now. Pricing remains unclear.
