This underrated Pixel feature may finally reach more devices and countries
by Rajesh Pandey · Android PoliceAs a Pixel user, unless you live in the US, you miss out on many of its smart AI features. While Google has expanded some features to markets outside the US, most of them are still only available there. Now, it appears the company is preparing to bring another Pixel feature to more markets and devices worldwide.
With the Pixel 10 series in 2025, Google introduced a new "Take a Message" feature. Think of it as a smarter voicemail that takes messages on your behalf when someone calls you and displays real-time transcriptions while at it. The feature works on all supported Pixels, starting with the Pixel 6 all the way to the Pixel 10.
More importantly, the feature is only available in the US, Australia, Canada, Ireland, and the UK. Now, Android Authority reports that Google is working on a wider rollout of Take a Message.
As part of the expansion, the feature could make its way to several Asian and European countries, including Austria, Belgium, Finland, Malaysia, Hungary, Latvia, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Singapore, Sweden, and Taiwan.
In Germany, Spain, France, Italy, and Japan, Google may bring Take a Message with transcription support. India will also seemingly gain access to the feature, with special code snippets specifically for the country found in the latest Phone app beta.
The report indicates that Google plans to bring Take a Message to non-Pixel devices, but seemingly without transcription support.
Google should expand Pixel-exclusive features to more devices and markets
Unlike Call screening and other more advanced Pixel features, Take a Message is not as popular. But it's still a useful option, especially since it does all the transcription locally, making it a great privacy-focused feature. Plus, if you do not like traditional voicemail or your carrier’s voicemail system, Take a Message offers a much cleaner and smarter alternative right on your Pixel.

Earlier this year, Google expanded the Pixel’s Scam Detection feature beyond its own devices and brought it to the Samsung Galaxy S26 series. The move marked one of the first times the company made a major Pixel-exclusive AI calling feature available on a competing Android flagship. The company may take a similar approach with Take a Message, expanding it to non-Pixel flagships first and then to more devices.
