Samsung preparing to unveil roadmap of One UI 8.5 ahead of rollout

by · Android Police

Samsung is reportedly preparing to unveil the roadmap for the Stable version of One UI 8.5 before starting the update's rollout, alongside a pushed back rollout date of May 6 due to restrictions.

One UI 8.5's rollout is almost here

Samsung users are reportedly quite frustrated due to a lack of communication from the brand regarding the latest One UI update, with the organization refraining from revealing a release timeline.

However, Sammy Fans' chat with a Samsung rep brought some good news.

Samsung's chat support reportedly declined to give an exact timeline, but did hint that the roadmap will be released under the Notice section of the Samsung Members app.

Within the chat, Samsung's support represenative said, "Due to the many variables involved until the final update, the relevant departments have stated that it is difficult to provide advance notice, so there is no way for us to know internally either."

Samsung typically tends to stick to its release windows, so there must be some work that has to be done behind the scenes before the update actually releases to the general public.

As mentioned earlier, the update is expected to be released May 6, with global markets getting the update within a week. A Canadian Samsung moderator has ruled out the possibility of a simultaneous rollout for a range of devices, noting that the update is rolled out in stages to ensure both the stability and performance of the new UI on the older hardware.

The update windows tend to differ for different markets, and carriers, with the market to watch out for being South Korea. The updates used to launch in Germany first, but the consumer tech giant has now switched to benefitting its home market first. Even then, not long ago Samsung devices got yet another One UI 8.5 beta, with it debuting in Korea, Germany, and the U.K.
