Google's AI Plus plan drops to $4.99 and doubles storage to 400GB, making premium AI finally worth it
by Timi Cantisano · Android PoliceIf you're someone who's heavily into AI, but also wants to stay connected with Google's vast app and services ecosystem, subscribing to the company's AI plans is an absolute must. If you've been on the outside looking in because the plan prices are just too high, we've got good news.
Google is now lowering the price of its AI Plus plan, dropping to just $4.99/month, while also bumping up storage to 400GB. That's a $3 discount from the previous price, while also doubling the storage of the account.
We like what we're seeing here
While we're used to price increases on the services that we use, it's a welcome surprise when we get to see prices go down. Not a bad change at all, and one that makes it worth taking a look at if you've been thinking about signing up. You can head to the Google AI signup page to check out the new price.
The news was shared by Vikas Kansal, who is the Product Lead for Gemini AI subscriptions. Kansal shared through his X account that the pricing for AI Plus had been updated to $4.99/month. This change would also happen in other regions as well, dropping to whatever the local equivalent is. In addition, the storage for the plan is now seeing an increase.
As stated before, the AI Plus plan will now provide 400GB of storage, whereas the old plan only provided 200GB. All the other included features stay the same, and for someone new, there's a lot to explore. With this plan, Gemini really comes alive, providing help with most Google apps and services.
Users on the AI Plus plan will be able to access Gemini 3.1 Pro and Deep Research in Gemini. Users will also have access to NotebookLM, and can share these benefits with up to five family members. Of course, you'll want to check out the full set of features to get an idea of what Google's AI plans have to offer.
For the most part, you can see how this change can be a huge win for some people. Getting access to Google's powerful AI tools for less can be a game-changer for some. Many folks on the Android Police team have experimented with various AI tools, and Google makes some pretty compelling tools for everyday use.
It's really about the integration with its apps and services that makes Google's approach special. If you haven't we recomend at least giving it a try. While it might not be necessary, it does provide a nice boost whenever you get stuck and need some help.
