The Flowtica Scribe is a real pen that will secretly record your meetings

The Flowtica Scribe AI pen has graduated from Kickstarter to become a fully-fledged product anyone can buy, and it’s one of the more unusual AI productivity tools we’ve seen.

In a space dominated by devices like those from Plaud and the Mobvoi TicNote, the Flowtica Scribe takes a different approach as it is both a pen and an AI note taker, giving you the best of two worlds in a single device.

What does the Flowtica Scribe do?

The Flowtica Scribe is both a gel pen for hand writing notes and an AI recording device all-in-one, ready to ensure you don’t miss a moment, or any nuggets of wisdom, in meetings, lectures, or brainstorming sessions ever again.

Initially launched on Kickstarter, where the campaign was successfully funded, the retail model has been treated to a few upgrades.

It comes in a charging case with Apple’s Find My location service, a choice of new Satin Gunmetal and Silver Grey finishes, automated adaptive AI-driven voice capture, and a set of 20 new gel pen refills with either 0.5mm or 0.7mm tip options.

What about the Flowtica Scribe’s specs?

You can use the Scribe to write on any piece of paper, and the app for the AI side works with both Android and iOS. It captures audio using a microphone in the pen, which has a five-meter range, and records onto 32GB of internal storage space.

The software is able to recognize up to 15 different voices, and around 30 hours of continuous recording is possible, plus a total of 1,000 hours of recording when you recharge using the charging case.

There’s a physical button on the pen, called the FlowMark, which lets you highlight key moments in the conversation, and provided the app is running in the background on Android devices, the audio is seamlessly transferred over to your phone.

In the Flowtica app, features include AI-generated summaries and follow-up action points, plus task lists and overviews of decisions taken. Additionally, meeting recordings can be searched by topic or speaker. It supports 39 different languages.

How much does Flowtica Scribe cost?

There are two versions of the Flowtica Scribe. The Standard version includes the pen, refills, and charging cable for $159. The Complete Set also includes a dedicated charging case, plus three-months Premium use for $209.

Yes, there’s a subscription attached to the Flowtica Scribe. The basic, free plan has 300 minutes of AI processing per month. Spend $15 per month and you get 1,200 minutes per month, or $30 per month for unlimited minutes.
