2025/26 Ghana Premier League: Week 22 Match Report – Hohoe United 2-1 Nations FC

Hohoe United reignited their survival bid with a determined 2-1 victory over Nations FC at the Hohoe Sports Stadium on Sunday, ending a frustrating eight-match winless run in the Ghana Premier League.

Desperate for a spark, the hosts came flying out of the blocks and struck twice in the opening 11 minutes to seize control of the contest. William Oduro set the tone with a clinical finish just seven minutes into the game before Lawson Bekui doubled the advantage four minutes later, sending the home crowd into early celebration.

Nations FC gradually found their rhythm and pulled one back in the 36th minute through Raymond Oko Grippman, who halved the deficit to set up a tense second half.

After the break, the visitors pushed relentlessly for an equaliser, probing and pressing in search of a leveller. However, Hohoe United showed resilience and defensive discipline, holding firm under sustained pressure to secure a priceless three points.

The result significantly boosts Hohoe’s chances of preserving their top-flight status and injects renewed belief into their campaign.

For Nations FC, the defeat extends their miserable run on the road, as they remain without an away win this season. They will hope to respond positively when they return home to face Dreams FC in their next outing.

Hohoe United, meanwhile, face a stern test in their next fixture as they travel to take on title-chasing Aduana Stars, knowing that a repeat performance could prove decisive in their battle to avoid the drop.
