Ghana international Yaw Yeboah delivered an outstanding performance to power Qingdao Hainiu to an impressive 3-1 victory over Shanghai Port in the Chinese Super League on Saturday.

The former Black Stars winger, who lasted the entire duration of the match proved instrumental in the Round 9 clash, held at the Qingdao Youth Football Stadium, contributing both a goal and an assist in a dominant display.

Qingdao Hainiu made a bright start to the game, taking the lead just nine minutes in through Senwen Luo. The hosts went to the halftime break with a slender advantage, but Shanghai Port responded quickly after halftime, equalizing just two minutes into the second half through Alex Yang.

However, Yeboah stepped up when it mattered most. The 29-year-old restored Qingdao’s lead in the 68th minute before turning provider to set up Yonghao Jin, sealing a convincing win for the home side.

Yeboah’s performance continues his strong start to the season, having now registered three goals and two assists in nine appearances, underlining his growing influence in the Chinese top flight.

The 29-year-old, who has four caps for Ghana will be hoping to maintain his form throughout the campaign for Qingdao Hainiu.
