Inter Milan loanee Mike Aidoo nominated for Serie C Best Right-Back award
· GhanaSoccernetItalian-born Ghanaian defender Mike Aidoo has been nominated for the Best Right-Back award in Italy's Serie C after an impressive breakthrough season on loan at Pergolettese.
The 21-year-old enjoyed an outstanding campaign, establishing himself as one of the league's top full-backs after joining Pergolettese from Inter Milan last summer. His consistent performances played a key role in helping the club preserve their Serie C status while earning widespread recognition for his individual displays.
Aidoo made 33 league appearances during the 2025-26 season, scoring once and providing an assist as Pergolettese finished 16th to avoid relegation.
While the club achieved its primary objective of survival, Aidoo's performances stood out throughout the campaign. The young defender adapted quickly to the demands of Serie C, cementing his place in the starting line-up and becoming one of the division's most reliable right-backs.
His impressive form has now been recognised with a nomination for the league's Best Right-Back award, where he is one of four finalists competing for a place in the Serie C Team of the Season.
Before his move to Pergolettese, Aidoo progressed through the ranks at Inter Milan, featuring for the club's Under-17 and Primavera (Under-19) teams.
His development earned him opportunities with Inter's first team under Simone Inzaghi, and he made his professional debut in a Coppa Italia tie against Udinese in December 2024.
The nomination marks another significant milestone in Aidoo's career and further strengthens his reputation as one of Ghana's brightest young defenders based in Europe.
With his loan spell now complete, the recognition could boost his chances of breaking into Inter Milan's first-team plans or attracting interest from clubs seeking one of Serie C's standout performers.
