Lee Pace Says He “Would Love” to Return for PUSHING DAISIES Revival as Season 3 Hopes Grow
by Joey Paur · GeekTyrantThere’s something kind of magical about how Pushing Daisiesrefuses to stay buried. The quirky, heartfelt fantasy series created by Bryan Fuller ended back in 2009, but the fanbase never really moved on.
If anything, the demand for more has only grown louder over the years, and now there’s fresh reason to be optimistic about a long-awaited Season 3.
Fuller recently hinted that he’s actively working on bringing the show back, and while promoting Invincible, Lee Pace offered an encouraging update of his own. He’s not just aware of the revival talks, he’s fully on board.
“I’ve talked to Bryan about what his story is, and it sounds super fun,” Pace shared. “I loved playing that character. I fell in love with Anna Friel when we got to work together on that show. It was a really important time in my life, very special time.”
That connection to the show clearly hasn’t faded. Pace didn’t hesitate when talking about the possibility of stepping back into Ned’s world.
“I would love to get back to it. I would love to,” Pace continued. “It would be such a dream to get back with those actors and, of course, be back on set with my good friend, Bryan Fuller. So I hope he succeeds.”
As of late last year, the entire main cast is reportedly ready to return if the right opportunity comes along. The biggest obstacle isn’t interest, it’s finding a home and a budget that can support the show’s distinct visual style and storytelling.
Pushing Daisies wasn’t your average series. Its whimsical look, detailed sets, and stylized effects would require a solid investment, especially now that many of its cast and creatives have become even bigger names in the industry.
Add in the fact that it originally aired on ABC while being produced by Warner Bros. Television, and figuring out where it would land today becomes another layer of complexity.
Still, the show’s legacy speaks for itself. Season 1 holds a 92% score on Rotten Tomatoes, while Season 2 sits at a flawless 100%. It also racked up seventeen Primetime Emmy nominations and took home seven wins. That kind of track record doesn’t guarantee success for a revival, but it definitely helps make the case.
What might work in its favor even more is timing. Revivals aren’t rare anymore, they’re part of the current TV landscape. Shows that once seemed finished are finding new life on streaming platforms and even network TV. With audiences embracing nostalgia and studios looking for recognizable titles, Pushing Daisies feels like a perfect candidate to bloom again.
Nothing is officially greenlit yet, but between Fuller actively developing ideas and Pace openly hoping to return, this revival has more momentum than it has in years.
