DINOSAURS OF THE WILD WEST Trailer Unleashes Cowboys, T-Rex Rides, and a Wild New TV Adventure

If you thought Luke Sparke was finished playing around with dinosaurs after Primitive War, think again. The filmmaker is taking his love of prehistoric chaos in a completely different direction, and this one looks like it could be a blast.

The first full trailer for Dinosaurs of the Wild West has arrived alongside the launch of the project's Kickstarter campaign, giving fans a much better look at Sparke's ambitious new television series.

Instead of dropping dinosaurs into the Vietnam War like Primitive War, this latest story imagines an alternate version of the American frontier where dinosaurs never disappeared and became part of civilization itself.

It's a wonderfully ridiculous premise, and it looks like the story fully commits to it. Narrated by Jesse Kove (Cobra Kai), the footage throws viewers into a world packed with unforgettable imagery.

There are people soaring through the sky on pterodactyls, a baby raptor hanging out beside a campfire, and yes, a cowboy riding a T-Rex. That's exactly the kind of over-the-top dinosaur insanity you'd hope to see from a concept like this.

The official synopsis reads: “In an alternate frontier, humanity navigates a dangerous land where every journey, every town, and every war depend on the giant creatures that shaped civilization itself.

“But now, something is rising that threatens to change the world and the dinosaur connection forever. ‘Dinosaurs of the Wild West’ is an epic adventure series that reimagines the American frontier through a world millions of years in the making.”

The series is based on artwork created by Shaun Keenan, whose illustrations laid the foundation for this unique universe. If the Kickstarter reaches its goal, Sparke will step in as showrunner to bring the world to life.

Rather than pitching the project through the traditional television development process, Sparke wants audiences to decide whether this series gets made.

He explained: "Instead of waiting years for a network to decide whether this should exist, we're putting that decision directly in the hands of audiences.

“It was heartwarming to see the teaser liked and shared so enthusiastically by millions of fans. That response is entirely down to audiences embracing the concept, it tells us everything we need to know about whether this world deserves to exist."

Keenan is just as excited to see his dinosaur-filled frontier evolve beyond the page, saying: "Dinosaurs of the Wild West combines two of my favourite things. I illustrated a world that I wanted to live in.

“So, seeing how Luke is already bringing this world to life is surreal and beyond exciting. I can't wait to see what he does with the dinosaur playground I created,"

The campaign's initial goal is to fund the first two episodes, with stretch goals designed to expand the project into a larger series and eventually a full season. Backers can also choose from some pretty fun rewards, including on-set experiences, producer credits, and even the opportunity to design a dinosaur that will appear in the show.

Considering what Sparke accomplished with the surprisingly modest budget of Primitive War, there's good reason to believe he can stretch every dollar into something impressive once again.

As if that wasn't enough dinosaur news, Sparke has also confirmed that Primitive War 2 is officially happening. Which project reaches audiences first will likely depend on how this Kickstarter campaign performs, but one thing is clear. Sparke has fully embraced making dinosaur stories, and fans of prehistoric action have plenty to look forward to.

If giant dinosaurs roaming the Old West sounds like your kind of entertainment, Dinosaurs of the Wild West is definitely a project worth checking out. The Kickstarter campaign is live now, and after watching this trailer, it's hard not to appreciate just how much fun this concept looks.
