Dave Franco Crashes an Alien Wedding Nightmare in SOON YOU WILL BE GONE AND POSSIBLY EATEN

There’s a new alien invasion thriller on the way titled Soon You Will Be Gone And Possibly Eaten, and it’s bringing together Dave Franco and Sophie Wilde. Judging by the title, it’s pretty clear that things are going to get weird fast.

Franco, coming off projects like Now You See Me and Together, joins Wilde, who starred in Talk To Me and Babygirl. It’s a strong duo stepping into what sounds like a chaotic mix of romance and extraterrestrial terror.

The film is being directed by Egor Abramenko, whose work includes Sputnik and the upcoming A24 horror project Altar. The script comes from Luke Piotrowski and Ben Collins, the writers behind Hellraiser and The Night House.

The story itself is adapted from a short story by Nick Antosca, who also serves as creator-showrunner on Apple TV’s upcoming Cape Fear series starring Javier Bardem and Amy Adams.

The premise leans into a familiar setup before flipping it into something far more sinister. The movie will follow “Rob and Sabile, a young engaged couple, who head to a secluded mountain resort to take their vows and step into the new chapter of their shared lives.

“What was planned as a joyous wedding attended by family members takes a different turn when unexpected guests crash the ceremony.” Those “guests” aren’t exactly bringing gifts.

Production is aiming to kick off this summer, with backing from multiple production companies including Anonymous Content, Eat the Cat, and Divide/Conquer.

Between the cast, the filmmakers, and that offbeat premise, this one feels like it could land somewhere between unsettling horror and darkly funny sci-fi chaos. A wedding getting hijacked by aliens isn’t exactly traditional, but it definitely sounds like a memorable way to start a marriage.
