Hasbro’s New Legend of Zelda Master Sword Is Ready to Join Your Collection

You don’t need to smash every pot in Hyrule to afford Hasbro’s new Master Sword. Following its surprise reveal during yesterday’s Legend of Zelda-themed Nintendo Direct, Hasbro’s new The Legend of Zelda Master Sword replica is officially up for pre-order.

The electronic sword costs $42.99, which is considerably cheaper than I expected for an officially licensed Zelda collectible with lights, sounds, and enough shelf presence to make Link proud.

The Master Sword was announced alongside a new wave of merchandise tied to the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, including a playable ocarina. Pre-orders for the sword are now live through Amazon, Hasbro Pulse, and Walmart, with the toy expected to ship in Spring 2027, conveniently close to the arrival of the new Legend of Zelda movie.

This isn’t a full-size, 1:1 Master Sword replica aimed strictly at high-end collectors. At 27 inches long, it’s noticeably smaller than the roughly 40-inch size you’d expect from a life-size version. It’s also very clearly a plastic toy, but Hasbro did a pretty nice job with the proportions, colors, and detailing. Based on the product photos, it still makes for a cool display piece.

There’s more going on here than molded plastic, too. The electronic Master Sword includes more than 15 sound effects inspired by the games.

Picking it up or putting it down by the hilt activates the familiar equip and unequip sounds, while swinging the sword produces swiping effects. Smacking it into something triggers clashing sounds, although your furniture would probably appreciate it if you kept those battles imaginary.

Interestingly, despite arriving alongside all that Ocarina of Time Remake merchandise, the design of the sword itself comes from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. That also makes it a natural companion to Hasbro’s recently revealed Legend of Zelda action figures.

Hasbro Pulse has plenty of experience making geek-friendly prop replicas. The company has previously offered collectibles such as the Darth Vader Force FX Elite Lightsaber and its awesome Wolverine helmet, so seeing the Master Sword enter the lineup feels like a natural fit.

It also makes you wonder how long it'll be before Hasbro goes all the way with this thing. A premium, full-size 1:1 Master Sword feels almost inevitable.

Give collectors a roughly 40-inch replica with high-end detailing, electronic sound effects, and a display stand, and Hasbro would have something Zelda fans could proudly put next to their lightsabers and superhero helmets. Bandai’s Proplica Master Sword already proved there’s an audience willing to pay considerably more for that kind of collector piece.

For now, though, $42.99 gets you a pretty cool electronic Master Sword without requiring you to empty your entire rupee wallet.
