ITV I'm A Celeb's Ant and Dec kick off with savage Rebekah Vardy joke about Coleen Rooney
by Mia O'Hare · PlymouthLiveAnt and Dec didn't hold back on cracking a joke about Coleen Rooney's highly publicised feud with Rebekah Vardy as the WAG joined this year's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!
In the opening moments of the show, the hosts introduced the celebrities, with Dec throwing in a quip: "It will be nice for her to face trial that doesn't involve Rebekah Vardy."
The line was a nod to the recent court case between Coleen and Rebekah.
Rebekah, who had her own stint in the jungle back in 2017, made it clear just hours before the premiere that she is paying no mind to the buzz surrounding Coleen's participation. But when queried by The Sun about her plans to watch Coleen tackle Bushtucker trials on ITV, Rebekah confidently responded: "Absolutely, we'll be watching avidly.
"Everyone seems to think I have this massive problem with Coleen going into the jungle. But do you know what? If you want to fan the fire, the flames are going to get higher. I wasn't going to carry on talking about this, I had no intention of talking about it, but she clearly can't let it go."
I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! is back with a bang, bringing a fresh batch of celebs ready to tackle the show's notorious challenges. Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are once again at the helm, presenting the much-loved series set in the Australian wilderness.
Contestants will be put through their paces with everything from the infamous Bushtucker Trials to Kiosk Kev's perplexing puzzles, all vying for the chance to dethrone last year's king of the jungle, Sam Thompson.
The initial line-up of campmates was revealed before the show's launch, boasting names such as Coleen Rooney, Danny Jones, and Oti Mabuse. Yet, in 'true' I'm A Celeb fashion, viewers can expect some unexpected late arrivals to shake things up.
Love Island's Maura Higgins and Reverend Richard Coles are rumoured to be making their way into the jungle later in the season.
Ahead of the show's comeback, hosts Ant and Dec shared some "bad news" with their followers. Addressing fans directly from their shared Instagram account, Declan announced: "Hi everybody, Ant and Dec here. But you knew that. We've got a little update for you, because we know lots of you've been asking about Jungle Club this year. We've got some good news and we got some bad news. I'll start with the bad news, shall I?"
Ant then announced: "Jungle Club will not be going on straight after the main show. Sorry. The good news is it will be going on straight after the new ITV2 show. Yay!" Dec chimed in: "So we are back, but we're a little bit later. Yes, we are. It's Jungle Club: Late and Live. One for all you night owls out there."
The Jungle Club involves Ant and Dec going live on Instagram following the main programme to discuss their thoughts, reactions, share anecdotes and provide exclusive behind-the-scenes insights.
