Putin to Trump: ‘Russia, US responsible for global security’
by Wale Odunsi · Daily PostPresident Vladimir Putin on Saturday emphasized that Russia and the United States jointly carry the burden of keeping the world secure and stable.
The remark formed part of his congratulatory message to President Donald Trump on the 250th anniversary of the United States of America.
Putin noted that the signing of the U.S. Declaration of Independence in July 1776 not only heralded the birth of the nation but additionally constituted a landmark event in world history.

The premier recalled it was then that the Russian Federation extended “its unequivocal support” to the North American colonists in their struggle for freedom from British rule.
Putin cited “many significant pages” in the Russia-U.S. relations, including fighting as allies in two world wars, “liberating humanity from the horrors of Nazism,” and playing a key role in shaping the modern world order.
”Today, Russia and the United States, as the world’s two largest nuclear powers, bear a special responsibility for maintaining international security and stability,” he stressed.
Putin added that the establishment of constructive, equitable, and mutually beneficial relations between Moscow and Washington serves the interests of people from both sides and of the international community.
In his message, King Charles III said across science, research, education, culture and arts, defence and security, and trade and investment, the ties between the United Kingdom and the U.S. are “unique and far-reaching.”
The monarch noted that through centuries of shared challenge and achievement, the allies have built a relationship founded on friendship, trust, and a belief in liberty, the rule of law, and the dignity of all people.
King Charles acknowledges their shared responsibility to protect the world, saying today’s decisions will not just maintain harmony, but also continually ”provide the foundation for our prosperity and our national security.”
