Top temps of 19 today with 'very warm or even hot weather' continuing into next week

FOLLOWING DAYS OF unsettled weather, Met Éireann said temperatures are to continue to trend upwards with “very warm or even hot weather” continuing into next week.

Cloud and drizzle will be replaced by dry and bright conditions later today, with hazy sunshine even making itself known in places. Highest temperatures of 14 to 19 degrees are expected.

The weekend weather looks set to be pleasant, with dry and sunny weather really kicking in on Saturday.

Tonight will be cloudy and humid with patches of mist and drizzle, but overall a lot of dry weather and a mild night with lowest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees.

Friday will begin mild and cloudy, with patches of mist and drizzle across the country.

Highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees are expected, but cooler weather and sea fog may be seen in southern areas.

Sunny spells will gradually develop, but we’re not in the clear yet as some sharp showers will develop in places too, mostly in Ulster.

Any lingering showers will die out early on Friday night with a dry and cloudy night with lowest temperatures of nine to 12 degrees. Mist and fog may set in, though, especially for south-east counties. 

Saturday will be dry with warm, sunny spells developing and highest temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees.

Sunday will be another warm day with spells of sunshine. However, cloudier skies will build in parts too. Highest temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees are expected.

Met Éireann said that high pressure looks set to dominate into early next week, bringing a continuation of the mostly settled spell with warm or very warm weather feeding up across the country.
