Two dead after car rams into people in German city of Leipzig

TWO PEOPLE HAVE been killed and several have been injured after a car rammed into people in the east German city of Leipzig, the mayor of the city has said.

The incident happened in the city centre.

Police have said that the driver of the vehicle has been arrested. 

“A car hit several people on Grimmaische street and fled the scene,” police said in a post on X. “The driver has been arrested and no longer poses any danger.”
