Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has been confirmed as Steam Deck Verified
by Aran Suddi · tsaUbisoft has confirmed that those of you who fancy taking to the high seas wherever you are then you will be covered. That’s because the publisher has announced that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is going to be Steam Deck Verified when it launches on July 9th. It even appears raytracing and dynamic weather will be working on the Steam Deck version.
In a blog post Ubisoft wrote, “We’re very happy that you’ll be able to play the game your way, and we’ve been busy making sure that your journey through the Caribbean with Edward is comparable however and wherever you choose to experience it. Not only does the game look and run great on Steam Deck, but our developers have worked hard on features like raytracing across all platforms, dynamic weather that looks and feels fantastic, and a Caribbean remade from the ground up with modern platforms in mind.”
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has been built from the ground up in the latest rendition of the Anvil engine by a global team led by Ubisoft Singapore – the studio behind Skull and Bones, and who originally developed the naval combat for this era of Assassin’s Cred game. This promises to be a broadly faithful remake, so it retains parry-based combat instead of going all-in on action RPG shenanigans, but is has been sped up and made more fluid. That’s alongside stealth that now includes crouching anywhere you want, and parkour that’s been refined, and deeper naval mechanics that give the Jackdaw new weapon upgrades. There is some new narrative content being added in for the three new crewmates that you can aquire – Lucy Baldwin, The Padre, and Deadman Smith – and to expand existing story lines and characters. Other missions have been tweaked too, so tailing missions don’t just desync if you’re spotted and just fold over into combat.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Preview – What’s a pirate’s favourite video game?
In our Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced preview, Stefan said, “I had a great time with this return to Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. This, to me, could go down as one of the very best game remakes, from the graphical upgrades to the gameplay and progression tweaks and the smattering of new missions. Fortunately, we don’t have all that long to wait, with the game set to launch on the 9th of July, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.”
