Of Ash & Steel Shattered Faith DLC announced, along with console versions

by · tsa

Of Ash and Steel is getting a major piece of DLC, developer Fire & Frost has confirmed. And that DLC is called Shattered Faith, which will allow players to approach combat in a different way due to the introduction of magic. Tristan will be able to pursue one of two schools of magic, following either the Order of the Seven to use fire or the Free Hunters to use nature as a weapon.

Along with the addition of magic based combat, Of Ash & Steel Shattered Faith will open up new areas of Grayshaft, six new locations in fact. These locations include the Old Port and a treetop Hobster settlement. In addition, Tristan will be able to travel to hidden areas using Ancient Knowledge. New DLC also means new enemies in the form of banshees, falsestumps, and other creatures twisted by a corruption. The Shattered Faith DLC will also add 50 random events, 12 perks, a new card game, the option to create a guild, weapon enchanting, and new weapons and armour. Fire & Frost also confirmed that Of Ash & Steel and the Shattered Faith DLC will be releasing on PS5 and Xbox Series XS.

Of Ash and Steel Review – I can’t believe it’s not Gothic…

In our Of Ash and Steel review, Steve said, “It’s a bit of a cop out to say that this is a game for fans of the genre, but it is entirely appropriate with Eurojank. If you’ve ever played and enjoyed a Piranha Bytes game, then Of Ash and Steel is easy to recommend, especially given the patches and improvements since release. It’s also a good entry point for newcomers to the subgenre, though you will still need to tolerate some  teething problems. If the game gets its teeth into you then it’ll become your new obsession. For others, however, they’ll bounce off the game and go back to more polished and forgiving titles.”
