Check out the new Minecraft Dungeons II trailer, with yet another September launch
by Stefan L · tsaFollowing its announcement earlier this year, the release date for Minecraft Dungeons II has been set for 29th September. The game is in the works for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and PC, it will naturally be launching day one into some parts of Xbox Game Pass.
The trailer starts with a nice animated intro before showing off snippets of classic top-down action RPG gameplay, building up to the reveal of a huge ghost boss to battle. There’s then some rift shenanigans at the end. What could that mean?
Minecraft Dungeons 2 naturally looks to expand and improve on the first game. The original launched in the middle of 2020, putting a new twist on the blocky Minecraft universe by blending it with the dungeon crawling of Diablo. It’s fair to say that it didn’t really feature much of the crafting and creativity of the main Minecraft game, so perhaps more of those elements could be integrated? Either way, the action RPG battling and loot gathering is always a good time, especially with friends and family.
In our Minecraft Dungeons review, Dom wrote, “Minecraft Dungeons could easily have been “My First Dungeon Crawler”, but it’s so much more than that. It does a great job of taking the genre’s hooks – the waves of enemies, the pervasive drive for better loot – and makes them palatable and approachable for a wide-ranging audience. It’s perfect family gaming, but if you crank the difficulty up prepare for an epic beatdown, and the epic rewards to go with them.”
