Defend your raft from space zombies in Lazy River, from the creator of Secret Hitler

by · tsa

Coming from the mind of Mike Boxleiter – the creator of Secret Hitler – Lazy River is a co-op shooter where you need to escape a space waterpark gone wrong. The game is coming to Early Access, but there’s a good long wait for that, as it won’t arrive until summer 2027.

This friendsloppy shooter is set on a space station with space water, and there’s one rule: don’t pee in the space water. If you do, then everyone around you will turn into zombies.

Sadly, some dumb kid has done exactly that, and now you and your small group of friends need to build a raft, ride it down the river and escape Water Station One before it’s totally locked down, the robot security forces swooping in to obliterate every shred of organic life.

Thankfully, these zombies are now all vulnerable to water, and you’ve got a bunch of water guns, water bombs and can construct turrets to take them out. You’ll have to go scavenging the surroundings as the raft floats, lazily, down the river, and craft yourself armour, items and more.

Constructing the raft needs a bit of thought so that it’s not unbalanced, or adding sails and motors to power you ahead. You’ll probably need it given what’s coming at you.

Anyway, it looks nice and goofy. The full development team, alongside Boxleiter, is Kevan DuPont, Jake Yetter, Joel Corelitz and Karlee Esmailli.
