genAtlas is the next game from Shadow of the Colossus creator, Fumito Ueda

Previously known as Project Robot, genAtlas is the next game from Ico and Shadow of the Colossus creator Fumito Ueda.

“Without knowing why, you awaken on an abandoned planet,” said the developer team, GenDesign. “As you journey deeper into this strange world, a colossal robot awaits. Its overwhelming power opens paths to places once beyond reach, transforming your conception of the world. Across an endless expanse of time, the remnants of those forgotten constructs begin to move once more…”

You can certainly see elements of both Ico and Shadow of the Colossus in genAtlas, it is a single-player open-world game and sees the protagonist clambering around giant robots. It seems you can also pilot a head and attach it to other robots.

The game is coming to PC via Epic Game Store, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. No release date has been revealed.
