Moss: The Forgotten Relic brings the mousey VR saga to flatscreen consoles and PC
by Stefan L · tsaSome of the most beloved and acclaimed VR games are coming to flatscreen PC and consoles this summer, as Polyarc has announced Moss: The Forgotten Relic.
Moss: The Forgotten Relic is an all-in-one collection of Moss, Moss: Book II and the Twilight Garden DLC, adapted and enhanced to be payable on PC and consoles without needing a VR headset.
It will be launching across PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 1 and 2 this summer.
This is great news for getting more people to experience this charming adventure, especially as the market shifts away from virtual reality gaming, consigning it to be a niche interest. Moss was a game that already took a light touch with its virtual reality dynamics, a puzzle platformer presenting you with interactive diorama-like scenes to guide your mouse hero through and to reach into with sight and motion controls. Some elements will need to be reworked and adapted for flatscreen and pure controller play,
Looking back on the original’s 2018 release for PSVR, Jim said, “Moss is an absolute joy to play, proving that a great VR experience doesn’t always require that you flail your arms around while fending off bouts of motion sickness. It’s a wonderfully realised puzzle platformer with clever twists, beautiful backdrops, and an adorable hero, making PlayStation VR even more tempting for prospective buyers.”
