Doom: The Dark Ages – Revelations DLC revealed for July
by Stefan L · tsaThe first DLC expansion for Doom: The Dark Ages is coming, as Revelations will launch on 7th July.
Coming out of the main story feeling pretty betrayed, there’s a narrative jump for this DLC to deal with. Here’s a bit of blurb:
Wounded and betrayed, the Slayer is thrust into a merciless purgatory only escapable by confronting haunting truths and forging new strength with the help of a mysterious ally. He must ascend from the prison of his mind and fight an abomination of the gods to set his followers on the path to freedom.
Featuring new levels with deeper puzzles, new demons, and new mysteries, Revelations opens up a whole new dimension of combat. The all-new deadly Chain Spear offers returning slayers a uniquely satisfying combat system – one that rewards mastery with enhanced power and mobility.
Also included is the highly anticipated Ripatorium 3.0, adding DLC content (3 new maps, new demons, and fully upgraded new weapons) plus deeper customization, improved pass code generation, and saving + loading personal presets.
The latest entry in the revitalised Doom saga, The Dark Ages is a great, but rather different experience to Eternal. In our review, Miguel said, “DOOM: The Dark Ages is a fun and flashy shooter stuffed with engaging content – it’s a thrill-ride from beginning to end. In the shadow of DOOM Eternal, though, the more varied set-pieces and methodical combat cause its flame to burn just a bit less bright than I was hoping for.”
