Common-mode chokes in 5 x 5 x 2.5mm

Bourns has created a series of low-profile surface-mount common-mode choke line filters.

Called SRF0502, they stand 2.5mm tall and have a 5 x 5mm footprint.

It “latest line filter series features a shielded construction that helps to minimise EMI while delivering low dc resistance, current rating up to 5A and a frequency range up to 700 MHz”, said the company. “These are ideal for eliminating noise in industrial power supplies.”

There are four models spanning 250Ω to 1.4kΩ common-mode impedance at 100MHz, and another rated at 100Ω at 10MHz. Current ratings are spread across 1.5 to 5A and dc resistances from ~20 to 55mΩ.

Operation is across -40 to +125°C so long as the 40°C temperature rise at full current is taken into account (or 45°C for the choke rated at 10MHz).
