Rosary matriculation school students hold cancer awareness programme

Students of the Rosary Matriculation Higher Secondary School, in collaboration with ESOINDIA, conducted a cancer prevention awareness programme on Thursday (November 28, 2024).

According to a press release, the objective was to raise awareness on cancer and its causes and prevention. The programme educated students on the importance of early detection and timely treatment. The emphasis was to promote a positive attitude towards healthy lifestyle choices to reduce cancer risk. Students presented their artworks and essays on cancer prevention and were awarded prizes.

Rema Chandramohan, president of ESOINDIA, M. Kanagavel, secretary of ESOINDIA, J.A. Jayalal, president, Commonwealth Medical Association, P. Sundarraj, chairman of the Tamil Nadu State chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), and R. Kannan, chairman, Chennai city branch of the ASI, spoke. The programme was conceptualised by teachers of the Rosary Matriculation Higher Secondary School, headed by Amula, and Sister Vensy Sahayarani, principal, the release said.
