CUK Vice-Chancellor appeals to students to apply for CUET

The application process for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for various postgraduate courses for the academic year 2025-26 in central universities has commenced from January 2, Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Karnataka Battu Satyanarayana said.

Addressing a press conference in Kalaburagi city on Saturday, Mr. Satyanarayana said CUET will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) Mode. The online submission of application forms for PG programmes will be open from January 2 to February 1. He said candidates can also apply on https://pg cuet.samarth.ac.in/, the details of which are available on CUK website www.cuk.ac.in

The last date for paying the exam fee is February 2 either through net banking, credit card, debit card, or UPI. Candidates had provision for corrections in particulars of their application forms from February 3 to 5. The examination centres would be announced on the website by the first week of March and candidates can download admission cards from the NTA website four days prior to the examinations scheduled. The examinations would be conducted from March 13 to 31.

Mr. Satyanarayana said the National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the PG entrance test for central universities and other participating universities across the country. As many as 600 seats will be available for 30 PG programmes, including one B.Ed programme at CUK.

Replying to a query, Mr. Satyanarayana said the maximum intake capacity for most programmes is 30, whereas there are 45 seats for MBA and 55 seats for B.Ed course. He added that for M.Sc. (mathematics, physics, and chemistry) course, 50% of seats will be filled through CUET and 50% through Joint Admission Test for MSc-2025 (JAM); similarly for M.Tech 50% of seats will be filled through CUET and other 50% through GATE.

Of the total seats allotted for each PG programme - three seats reserved for Kalyana Karnataka region and three seats are reserved for economically weaker sections. Mr. Satyanarayana clarified that students pursuing sixth semester of UG course and even those writing fifth semester examinations can apply for CUET-PG.

Students can take CUET-PG exam in 312 centres, including 27 centres outside the country. In Kalyana Karnataka region, two Kalaburagi and Ballari will have the exam centres.
