Coimbatore Corporation plans to prepare DPR for Noyyal development
by The Hindu Bureau · The HinduThe Coimbatore Corporation plans to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the development of Noyyal River within the Corporation limits.
Currently, the civic body is working on marking the river’s boundaries using Geographic Information System (GIS), which allows for the digital identification of the river’s limits. Field surveys are being conducted to place the boundary stones.
A senior Corporation official said that the river spans 18.5 km within the city limits, covering the south, central, and east zones. As of now, nearly 10 km of the river’s length has been identified through a combination of digital and physical surveys. The boundary marking work is expected to be completed within a month. Once completed, a consultancy firm will be appointed to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the potential development of the river stretch.
