Reinforcing steel bends at CMRL work site near Kumananchavadi

A wire holding it snapped while construction on the viaduct for Phase II’s corridor 4 was under way

Reinforcing steel used in the construction of a pillar for Chennai Metro Rail’s Phase II Project was bent after a wire holding it snapped near Kumananchavadi junction on Tuesday. According to Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) officials, the incident occurred when the construction of the viaduct for corridor 4 (Light House to Poonamallee) was going on near the junction. “Work is under way to fix the issue. It will be completed tonight. There will not be any inconvenience for motorists,” an official said.
