Boots shoppers snap up 'must-have' YSL Black Opium perfume slashed by £44 online

Luxury fragrance fans are heading to Boots to grab a bottle of designer perfume while it's slashed by 40%. A 50ml bottle of Yves Saint Laurent's Black Opium Le Parfum typically costs £110 but shoppers can bag it for £66 as part of the retailer's Star Gift promotion. That's a total saving of £44.

Released in 2022, Black Opium Le Parfum is a fairly recent addition to the hugely popular Black Opium collection by YSL. The long-lasting perfume is said to be the most intense and warm interpretation of the original Black Opium perfume - and shoppers are raving about it.

The captivating scent radiates an unexpected rush of precious vanilla, complemented by iconic coffee notes and a sensual bouquet of white flowers. There are four perfumers behind the scent: Nathalie Lorson, Olivier Cresp, Marie Salamagne and Honorine Blanc.

It opens up with a spicy and fruity combination of cinnamon, pear and green mandarin alongside a heart of solar notes, jasmine sambac and orange blossom, as the Nottingham Post reports. The base is the most complex section and definitely lives up to the scent's vanilla-forward reputation with notes of Madagascar vanilla, bourbon Vanilla, vanilla absolute, coffee, vanilla orchid and patchouli.

It's pulled in an average rating of 4.9 out of 5 from across 692 reviews with 98% of reviewers' surveys recommending this product. One shopper said: "I love this scent for both day and night wear, it's long-lasting and smells so feminine and cute. Definitely a good one for my holiday."
