Channel 4 presenter taken off air after swearing during US election coverage
by Lee Grimsditch · Manchester Evening NewsDuring the high-stakes US election coverage, newsreader Emily Maitlis landed in trouble after her co-host Krishnan Guru-Murthy rebuked her for swearing on live television. In a global frenzy of analyses and projections about whether Kamala Harris or Donald Trump would secure the presidency, Channel 4’s Emily and Krishnan engaged guests in conversation about the latest developments.
However, the show veered off script when Emily inadvertently swore on air. She was quoting a contentious remark by Trump, saying: “It's not that they disagree about one thing.
"The whole thing is asymmetric. When Donald Trump talked about eating cats and dogs.
"Half of America was thinking, 'This is bats**t. I can't believe what he's saying.
"This is going to be the end of him'. ”
A guest seemed shocked as Krishnan immediately interjected with a firm rebuke: "Stop swearing. I have to tell [the guests] off for swearing and then you do it," leading Emily to quickly apologise for the gaffe, reports the Express.
Shortly after, viewers noticed Emily had vanished from the screen, and Krishnan provided an update, stating: "I will tell off Emily later because I know she started swearing. It may be the middle of the night in Britain but we're still a little bit sensitive about that stuff."

A third wrote: "Oh it was Maitliss swearing. I switched over & thought he was talking about a guest Channel 4 had to cut off."
