by · Manchester Evening News

Some Microsoft users continue to face difficulties accessing Outlook email services, more than 24 hours after an initial fault was reported.

Despite Microsoft stating overnight that "most users and core services" had seen a recovery from Monday morning's outage, there are ongoing efforts to resolve persistent issues with Outlook on the web.

The latest update from the official Microsoft 365 status account on X stated: "We’re still addressing lingering issues with Outlook on the web affecting some users and investigating mail queuing delays causing longer delivery times."

Additionally, the firm's service health status website has acknowledged the continued problems, alerting users that access to Outlook via the web might be compromised and email delivery could experience slight delays.

The website message read: "We’re investigating some mail queuing delays that is resulting in mail taking longer than expected to be delivered," and added, "Due to the impact of this incident, we will enter a period of extended monitoring prior to declaring this issue resolved."

On Monday, disruptions were reported globally across Microsoft 365 services, particularly affecting Outlook and the workplace communication app, Teams.
