BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Dianne Buswell called out by Chris McCausland over 'honest' reaction to pairing

Chris McCausland was quick to call Dianne Buswell out as they appeared on live TV to chat about their Strictly Come Dancing experience so far. The pair took a break from training to appear on This Morning on Thursday (October 3).

It has been revealed they'll be doing a jive to the Wayne's World Theme when the hit dance show returns this Saturday (October 5) and Chris didn't hold back in how he's been filming while rehearsing.

Talking to This Morning hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, the comedian said: "It's relentless. There is no let-up in it whatsoever. At the minute, I can't feel my legs and all I can feel is my legs at the same time. I feel like I've been riding a horse for a month, it is killing me.

"I spend about a third of the time trying to jive and two thirds of the time lying on the floor trying to breathe," before he added: "I'm a broken man, Ben. I'm a broken man!"

However, during the chat, Chris called out a detail in Dianne's tale as she was asked about her dad's reaction to her being paired with Chris. When Ben asked her if he had been disappointed with her new dancing partner, she said "He definitely wasn't disappointed but I think, along with a lot of other people, they kind of thought, 'you're going to have a lovely time but it might not last that long.' Because we just didn't know how it was all going to work."

However, Dianne's father Mark, who lives in Australia, has since "changed his tune" as she added: "He thinks that Chris is going to be there, they're coming over in November, so he's got to stay until November. He's convinced he's going to watch us live dance and he's absolutely loving it. He calls me almost every (day) and wants to talk to Chris, not me."

She added: "He said to me at the beginning, 'You know Di, winning isn't everything. Just got out there, having a good time,' and that's it. Now he's changed his tune." But Chris, who is Strictly first blind contestant, interjected and said: "Hang on a minute! That's not what happened...

"He didn't say that to you, right. Let's be honest about this, I'm not letting you get away with that! She said to me, 'Chris, I asked to be paired with you. I'm a big fan of your comedy, I really wanted to be paired with you' and he dad let slip that she said to him, 'Listen, Dad, winning isn't everything'. Sometimes, you've got to do a little bit of work for charity!"
