M&S shoppers 'in love with' musical light up Christmas tin

by · Manchester Evening News

Christmas may still be a couple of months away, but that hasn't stopped people snapping up some festive gifts as the big day approaches.

One gift that is causing a stir is the Santa's Workshop Musical Light Up Tin from Marks and Spencer.

It has a switch on the top to turn on the light and a small handle on the side to turn and create the sound.

With mirrors inside, it creates the illusion of elves at work and you hear the banging of a hammer as they're busy making toys.

The 400g tin costs £10 and while many people like them as 'a wonderful keepsake', it's also the biscuits inside that add to their appeal.

It contains two bags of star shaped all-butter chocolate chip cookies

This one has two rather large bags of star shaped all-butter chocolate chip cookies inside it - and tasty ones at that.

Shoppers have been praising the festive product online, with hundreds of them commenting on social media posts saying they are 'in love with' the tin and 'need one of these this Christmas'.

Among the positive reviews on the Ocado website, one said: "The detail is beautiful, it's a lovely gift and the biscuits were great. It's something different and a really nice keepsake, especially for the price."

Another described it as 'magical' and said: "A beautiful magical cookie tin, lights up, plays music and the little elf even moves his hammer in the workshop. Lovely gift if you can bear to part with it. Delightful!"

The Letters for Santa gift tin is also proving popular

Some shoppers did say that it's not as impressive as previous projection tins they've bought from the retailer, but one responded saying: "If you don't compare it to previous years it's great. Last year's tin was hard to beat but this one is good, lots of details, nice music and the elf moving his hammer and making a smashing sound is a nice touch."

It's not the only M&S gift getting people in the mood for the festive season. We've previously reported how shoppers have been snapping up the Letters for Santa gift tin and the Solid Milk Chocolate Presents Sleigh has also been flying off the shelves.
