Tesco, Marks and Spencer and Sainsbury's shoppers issued urgent product recall alerts

by · Manchester Evening News

Tesco, Marks and Spencer and Sainsbury's have all issued important messages to shoppers over products that should be returned to stores.

The supermarkets are recalling various products due to concerns they may contain things they shouldn't. Customers who have the products in their fridges or cupboards at home should not eat them and should instead return them to stores.

Tesco shoppers are being warned not to eat certain mince pies in case they have glue in them, while M&S shoppers are being alerted to possible metal pieces in soup, the Liverpool Echo reports.

When a product is recalled, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) shares the details of the products on its website and issues advice on what you should do if you have the products.

Here are the latest product recalls from three of the UK's major supermarkets.

Tesco

Tesco is recalling 'Tesco Finest Six All Butter Pastry Mince Pies' because they may contain pieces of dried glue from packaging which makes them unsafe to eat.

The alert relates to six-packs of the mince pies with a best before date of 04 October 2024, 26 October 2024, 02 November 2024 or 10 November 2024.

If you have bought the product do not eat it. Instead, return it to any store for a full refund. For more information contact Tesco Customer Service Team on 0800 505 555

Marks & Spencer

M&S is recalling 'M&S Smooth Butternut Squash Soup' because it may contain small pieces of metal which makes it unsafe to eat.

Any 600g pot with a use by date of 06 October 2024 should not be eaten. Instead, return it to your nearest store for a full refund. For more information contact Marks & Spencer on 03330148555.

Sainsbury's

Hain Daniels is recalling 'Yorkshire Provender Jacket & Toast Toppers' because they may contain peanuts which are not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts.

This recall is linked to the wider issue of peanut contamination of mustard.
