They kicked the epic night of dancing off by delivering a classical American smooth routine to Canadian-born singer Paul Anka’s Jump that earned them their first 10s of the series Head judge Shirley Ballas told black tie-wearing Chris that he had the "best feet I’ve seen in a long time", and "didn’t miss a beat".

Anton Du Beke said "if anyone can beat that tonight, I’d be amazed", before they earned 37 points from the judges, their highest score of the seires so far, while co-host Tess Daly revealed to them that they were the 100th Strictly couple to perform in Blackpool.

It was then confirmed during Sunday night's (November 17) results show that Chris and Dianne had made it through to week 10 of Strictly's 2024 series, which will see Dianne's partents in the audience to watch her perform live in the hit dance competition for the first time.

Taking to Instagram following the eighth results show of the series, which saw Wynne Evans and Katya Jones eliminated from Strictly's 20th-anniversary series, Dianne shared her emotional thoughts about her and Chris' latest success in the ballroom as she thanked their supporters.

Alongside pictures of the pair in action in the Tower Ballroom, the Australian dancer said: "Thank you all so so much for voting for Chris and I on Saturday night we are so excited for another week on the dance floor together.

"And something I have been waiting for for a long time now is for my mum and dad to be in that audience to see the concert live and it’s finally happening, Chris thank you for making this moment possible I am so grateful and so so excited I could burst."

Dianne added: "Also wanted to thank the professional dancers in our dance on Saturday night you guys are all so incredible and made Chris feel so at ease and just your talent in not only our number but all the numbers ! You all deserve so much credit @robbiekmetoni @alberto.faccio @sopholloway_ @beccascottxx @jakeleigh__ @abz_kareem."

Chris was then quick to respond to the post with the 47-year-old writing: "Woooooo!!! It was very emotional. Thank you to everybody that voted for us. Dancing in Blackpool with seven incredible dancers is something I will never forget - thank you guys."

It is then when he added: "Change of plan though Dianne. The goal we set ourselves was to try to get through Blackpool so that we could still be in this thing for your mum and dad's arrival. We now also need to get through next week as we can't have them coming all this way to see us being eliminated can we. Bring on next week partner! Lots of love."
