After months of anticipation, Saturday Night Live UK is finally here, but what time and channel is it on, who is in the full cast and who are the guest presenters?

Premiering all the way back in 1975, Saturday Night Live is a staple of American comedy. The sketch show is credited with launching the careers of Hollywood legends such as Bill Murray, Eddie Murphy and Chevy Chase.

Never missing a year, the show is not afraid to poke fun at political topics, with Donald Trump appearing in countless cold opens in the last decade. The series is known for having a famous guest presenter each week appear in sketches alongside the programme’s rotating cast.

Currently airing its 51st season, this season alone has featured Harry Styles, Ryan Gosling, Bad Bunny, Finn Wolfhard, Ariana Grande, Melissa McCarthy and Sabrina Carpenter. On top of this it recently had a movie based on its first episode hit cinemas.

While it remains to be seen if the UK version can live up to its lofty predecessor, SNL UK is one of the most intriguing programmes to premier on our shores in many years.

What time and channel is Saturday Night Live UK on?

The first episode of Saturday Night Live UK gets underway at 10pm on Saturday, March 20. As the title gives away, it is indeed filmed live. Due to this there some sketches may have to be cut for time!

While NBC has aired the US version since its debut in 1975, Sky One managed to win the rights to air the series. It will be available to stream on Peacock in the US and on NOW TV for those in the UK playing catch up. It is scheduled to air until 11.15pm.

Who is presenting Saturday Night Live UK?

SNL legend Tina Fey will be guiding the UK cast through their first ever evening of live sketch comedy in front of the nation. Fey worked on the programme from1997 to 2006 when she served as a head writer, a performer and co-anchor of Weekend Update.

After leaving SNL, she went on to create and star in 30 Rock alongside Alec Baldwin and Tracey Morgan, which landed her an Emmy and two Golden Globe Awards. On top of this she created Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and The Four Seasons for Netflix.

If that wasn’t enough she presented he Golden Globe Awards four times with Amy Poehler, who she appeared in the film Sisters and Baby Mama with. Performing the live music for the first episode is English group Wet Leg.

Episode two on Saturday, March 28, is being presented by 50 Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan, who previously showed off his comedy chops in Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar. Fresh off of performing live and winning at The BRITs in Manchester, rock group Wolf Alice will perform.

The third episode on Saturday, April 4, will be fronted by Sound of Metal and Venom actor Riz Ahmed. Legendary UK rockers Kasabian will provide a reminder on why they’re one of the nation’s biggest bands.
