BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans say 'please' after 'offensive' move towards Chris McCausland

Strictly Come Dancing fans were begging for Chris McCausland to be supported following his appearance in the semi-final after an 'offensive' move from the judges.

The comedian and his professional dance partner Dianne Buswell were among the five couples who made it through to the penultimate week of the BBC One dance contest which took place on Saturday night (December 7).

They started their quest to make it through to Strictly's final next weekend by performing a Charleston to When You’re Smiling by The Blue Vipers Of Brooklyn which was awarded 33 points by the judges.

Their other dance, a Viennese waltz to Nothing Else Matters by Metallica, received 36 points from the judges and saw Chris and Dianne in tears at its conclusion.

Dianne's emotional appearance continued as she shared why she thought Chris should make it through to the upcoming final of Strictly's 20th-anniversary series, saying: "I have taught Chris this whole time without a single visual cue.

"He's never been able to watch a dance back to see if he's done a great job or to look at anything and go, 'Maybe I can improve on that!' He's never been able to see any of his competitors, see what the competition is like, he's had none of that yet he's seen this competition so well because he's captured the spirit of this show."

But it was after their first performance of the night that Strictly fans became concerned for Chris as they compared his scores to those of Pete Wicks and his pro dance partner Jowita Przystal, and criticised Shirley Ballas for branding the former TOWIE star 'Mr Strictly' over his lack of dance experience, despite Chris also having none.

@flickersuggs said: "Chris only having 1 more point than pete is offensive #strictly." @peggram_tara commented: "Please can we make sure Chris is Mr Strictly. Thanks. #Strictly." @TurtleBoi_11037 wrote: "Pete getting the same score as Chris is actually absurd... #Strictly." @LewisJohnY2 shared: "Sorry but the scoring and judging is wild this week, Chris is miles ahead of Pete as a dancer but theyre scoring is the same... A nonsense #Strictly."

@ElleRoseex posted: "Worried for Chris this week… everyone please VOTE!!! #strictly." @_mels13 typed: "If there’s anyone that’s ‘Mr Strictly’ it’s Chris. What he has achieved is nothing short of outstanding. It’s so emotional watching him every week. It’s beautiful #strictly." @harry_shumjr added: "How can Craig criticise Pete as much as that and then give him the same score he gave Chris? And a NINE from Shirley? Make it make sense #Strictly."
