ITV I'm A Celebrity star Oti Mabuse's biggest challenge 'revealed' as co-star issues warning
Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse's ex colleague Vincent Simone has revealed what her biggest challenge will be while in the I'm A Celebrity camp
by Mia O'Hare · The MirrorOti Mabuse's former colleague has revealed exactly what her biggest weakness will be in the I'm A Celebrity camp.
The ex Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer is set to head into the jungle tonight as she competes against the likes of Coleen Rooney, Danny Jones and Tulisa Contostavlos to be crowned winner. She has already opened up on her decision to fly to Australia and be apart from her baby girl for a whole month.
Oti, 34, gave birth at the end of last year but her baby was born prematurely with an infection and spent six weeks in intensive care after Oti developed sepsis during pregnancy. The Dancing On Ice judge insisted mums have goals and her husband Marius is more than happy to take on the full duties.
Ahead of her arriving in camp, former Strictly professional Vincent Simone has weighed in on how Oti will do. He took part in I'm A Celebrity back in 2013 but was the third contestant to be eliminated. Vincent believes dancers have the "upper hand" on the show as they spend their careers "competing, performing, training and focusing more than anything".
However, Vincent admitted there will be one huge obstacle for Oti - and it isn't leaving her daughter. "The only thing is, from my own experience, because I know so many professional dancers, and including some of my dance partners, they do struggle with the lack of food," he told the Metro.
Vincent added: "They are beasts on the dance floor, like literally the strongest people I know. But you take the food away from them, you lose them." Explaining her decision to head Down Under, Oti shared: "I've always wanted to be a part of the show in some capacity, and I felt like right now, this year is the only year for me to do it, because I'll probably never do it again.
"I'll never get another opportunity to do it again. I'd love to grow my family. I'd like to do other things. And so this was the year for me to do it, and it just felt right. I would love to grow my family so let's see what happens. But in terms of being away from family, I probably won't be able to do that much longer."
Referring to being apart for a few weeks, she added: "My daughter won't remember it. It's just a couple of days. She's with a lot of family, and she's with my husband who is amazing, and she's in more than capable hands. I think it's nice for her to see that mum is fully committed and loves her so much. But also, mum wants to do what she wants to do.
"You know, mum has goals as well, and I think it's something as mums, we can all kind of be proud of, that we can be these incredible human beings as well as accomplish things that we want or reach our goals or do things that are fun for us. And when she grows up, and she'll Google me, and she'll probably see it and be like, Yeah, my mum did that."
