Princess Charlotte's adorable dinnertime habit that mum Kate Middleton loves

Kate Middleton is known to be a hands-on parent and keen cook, who whips up a wide variety of dinners for her young family - but Princess Charlotte has picked up on dinnertime from her mum in particular

Over the years, Princess Kate has opened up a few times about the kinds of things she likes to cook from her family, from Italian food to teriyaki salmon, but as a seriously hands-on parent, when Princess Charlotte picked up one particular dinnertime habit from the future Queen, she would likely have thought it was incredibly sweet.

Kate and Charlotte share a really close bond, which is abundantly clear whenever the Princess of Wales occasionally brings her daughter with her to high-profile royal events. From their complementary outfits at King Charles's coronation last year, to the visible pride that Charlotte showed this year at the Wimbledon finals when the crowd gave her mum Kate a standing ovation on her arrival, the mother-and-daughter duo only seem to be getting closer as Charlotte grows up.

As Kate busies herself with making meals for her young family, Charlotte adorably found a way to get involved, mimicking exactly what her mum is getting up to and helping out in her own way. As reported in Hello magazine, "When Kate or the housekeeper are preparing meals in the kitchen, Charlotte will set up shop next to them, 'her own toy set by her side to imitate.'"

Kate and William are known to take health and fitness really seriously - clearly seen by their competitive natures on any royal engagements that require the couple to go head to head in a sporting activity - and they've passed these habits onto their children. Kate admitted to Mary Berry that all three of her kids absolutely love their veggies, so she may not be able to relate to the struggle some parents face when it comes to getting their kids to enjoy their five-a-day.

"We've got carrots, beans, beetroot - a massive favourite - Louis absolutely loves beetroot," Kate told the TV chef. The Princess of Wales has also previously revealed that she has been getting her children involved in the cooking process for a while now. When she visited the Lavender Primary School back in 2019, she explained that George and Charlotte would help her whip up a cheesy pasta sauce - one of their favoured dishes at the time. "She was telling us how much her children love cooking and how they cook for her. They made cheesy pasta the other day. One stirs the flour, one puts the milk and butter in. And they make salads and stuff," a member of the public who spoke with Kate revealed.
