BBC Strictly Come Dancing viewers do double take as they're distracted by Carlos Gu

There are still 11 celebrity dance couples hoping to win Strictly 2024 but on Saturday fans were left distracted as Halloween Week got underway

Halloween Week has arrived in the Strictly ballroom as week six of the competition is well underway. However, some viewers of the BBC dancing competition were left distracted by Carlos Gu on Saturday (October 26).

The pro dancer appeared to have dressed up as host Claudia Winkleman leaving some confused and others very amused. Taking to social media, one confused Strictly viewer asked: "Who’s that other “Claudia”? #StrictlyComeDancing #Strictly."

While a second wrote on X: "Carlos dressed as Claudia is amazing! #Strictly", as another simply added: "Carlos", followed by a laughing face. "Oh it’s Carlos, I thought it was Karen! #Strictly #DoubleClaude", exclaimed another.

There are currently 11 celebrity couples left all hoping to lift the all important Glitterball trophy. Bookmakers have made Dr Punam Krishan and her professional dance partner Gorka Marquez the favourites to be eliminated from the show this week.

They received enough votes from viewers to avoid the dreaded dance-off last Sunday after finishing second bottom in the judges’ leader board. Olympian Sam Quek and partner Nikita Kuzmin could join them in the dance-off after their odds of elimination were slashed from 33/1 to 7/2.

Last week, JLS star JB Gill and Amy Dowden were in the dance-off last week against Paul Merson and pro dancer Karen Hauer.

For Halloween they will will dance a Foxtrot to Dancing In The Moonlight by Toploader while Chris McCausland and his partner Dianne Buswell, who are favourite to win comedian will perform, a Samba to Stayin Alive’ by The Bee Gees.
