ITV I'm A Celebrity viewers rumble 'real reason' Dean McCullough sent to luxury camp

BBC Radio One presenter Dean McCullough was chosen by Maura Higgins and Reverand Richard Coles to join them in their secret luxury camp following his trial

I'm A Celebrity viewers believe they have cracked why Dean McCullough was chosen to join Junkyard Camp.

The BBC Radio 1 presenter took part in his fourth trial as he took on the Highstreet of Hell alongside McFly's Danny Jones. He has been struggling so far throughout the week, having even quit trials and failed to get stars for camp. Dean's campmates have been struggling with hunger after eating rice and beans for days.

New campmates Maura Higgins and Reverard Richard Coles were put into the Junkyard, which is actually a lavish camp with beds, food and a bath. Maura and Richard have been pretending to be struggling in a basic camp, which is far from the truth. The pair even headed to Dean and Danny's trial, where they pretended to have taken it on before them and failed miserably.

Dean and Danny managed to secure eight stars for the main camp in the trial, yet there was a twist at the end. Hosts Ant and Dec asked Maura and Richard to pick one of them to join the Junkyard. Dean and Danny, of course, didn't realise it would actually be a life of jungle luxury.

Maura and Richard ended up picking Dean to join them and had to carry on their lie until they reached the Junkyard. The radio presenter then discovered their secret life and was thrilled he was chosen to join them. However, viewers at home thought there was another reason Dean was picked.

One viewer said: "Wake up people its to stop him being voted for the trials." Another added: "This is fixed they knew the public would keep voting for Dean to do more trials so they removed him from the main camp so he can’t be up for voting." Someone else commented: " ITV fixing this to get Dean out of the trials."

A fourth wrote: "That’s the way to get him out of doing trials." Other viewers thought Danny should have been the one to head into the other camp. One fan said: "Can’t believe dean is gone in and not Danny. Another tweeted: "Why didn't they pick Danny," as a third added: "Danny deserved the luxury he did everything."

Viewers had even noticed host Ant was "seething" as Dean quit another challenge on Thursday. Ant addressed his outrage admitting he "wasn't happy" with how he came across, calling himself "unprofessional". Dean has also been naughty in camp, having smuggled in contraband.

The presenter has been telling his campmates about his stash of teabags and even made them a cup of tea. During Dean's trial with Danny, the pair missed a star that was hidden inside a kettle. Host Dec couldn't help make a jibe after spotting the irony. Of all the things not to look in, Dec joked he believed after the teabag situation that Dean would surely have checked there first.
