Even though Prince William and Princess Kate are incredibly hands-on parents, who put nothing above the well-being of their three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six - they still have some seriously relatable parenting struggles.

Both super-sporty, William and Kate have encouraged their three children in a variety of active, healthy hobbies - including tennis, rugby, football, and other sports. However, one of their eldest child - Prince George's - biggest fascinations has presented them with a bit of a parenting challenge, and it's something that parents all around the country will be all too familiar with. This has led the couple to implement some rules on George's solo hobby, to ensure that they are carefully monitoring how their son is spending his time.

Prince George's hobby was revealed by Prince William himself, back in 2022. William was visiting BAFTA's headquarters - an organisation he has been president of for 14 years - when he admitted that he and Kate were having to carefully monitor one of his eldest son's biggest interests: video games.

"At the moment it's trying to regulate the gaming... monitoring screen time. Got to be careful of that," William explained during the official royal engagement. "They're fascinated by it. George particularly. He's more interested in it. The other two are a bit too small at the moment but they love the films. I adore film and gaming as well."

Kate and William are reported to have instigated a ban on iPads when their children were very small and instead encouraged them to develop their imagination and play outside as much as possible. As reported in Us Weekly, an anonymous source who knows the couple explained back in 2018, "They're very much seen as Mummy and Daddy’s toys, not for children

"As two people who grew up without gadgets for entertainment themselves, William and Kate are firm believers in toys, outdoor play, and encouraging an active imagination." A pretty daring new hobby of Prince George's was recently revealed by Prince William during a visit to Birley Community Pool. The Prince of Wales admitted that when George was ten years old, they took him scuba diving and that the royal youngster absolutely loved it. He was ten years old, we took him under, thinking he’d freak out, but he absolutely loved it. It’s just introduced him to the world of water," the Prince of Wales explained.
