Coronation Street spoilers for the start of December have revealed big moments on the ITV soap in the lead-up to Christmas, including a double return and some Gail Platt news

There's plenty of twists and turns ahead in December, with an exciting week of Coronation Street ahead.

New spoilers for the week of December 9 have revealed huge moments, and some big discoveries. As well as announcements, lies and secrets under threat and some new rivalry, there's danger and drama too.

We've got one character harbouring a big secret all while being involved in another cover-up, which leaves them harmed. There's a mystery for one resident amid a feud with another character, while two other residents are also against each other.

Viewers will see two familiar faces back on the street too, but something involving them sparks concern - while one incident leaves a fan favourite in turmoil. One rather cryptic spoiler for the week ahead involves Gail Platt ahead of her Christmas Day exit after 50 years on the show.

Gail gathers her family together as she and new lover Jesse Chadwick make a big announcement, but what is it and how will her family take it? Speaking of the Platts, Bethany faces heartache amid her rocky romance with Daniel Osbourne when it's clear he and Daisy Midgeley are hiding something.

It remains to be seen if Bethany can forgive and forget! Meanwhile as Debbie's row with Daniel over Bethany boils over, his son Bertie is almost hurt and this only makes things worse.

Amid the drama with Daniel, things heat up between Daisy and Kit Green. But when Debbie's car is stolen and is spotted speeding through the Street, Daisy is left in shock. It's teased there's a deafening crash - but what has happened?

Another character is involved, as a secretive Shona Platt confides in Adam Barlow that she injured her arm after almost being run over by a car linked to Debbie's stolen vehicle. It's teased the car in the crash could be linked to Debbie's unless of course it's the same car.

Kit potentially knows something though, as when he realises Craig Tinker is double checking CCTV footage, he kills the call and asserts that he’s in charge of the case. What is he up to? Meanwhile Shona lies to David Platt about how she got her injuries, claiming to have fallen down the stairs.

Prior to the car incident and after receiving a text, Shona heads to a hotel to meet a mystery person. She sneaks back home after lying about what's happened, so who has she visited and what is she hiding?

Evelyn Plummer declares war on Steve McDonald next week too as he ruins a gift from Roy Cropper. Evelyn sends Steve a letter informing that she’s taking him to the small claims court. Will the pair manage to clear the air?

Finally there's a double return when Joel's parents head to the Street to see Dee-Dee Bailey. But when Max Turner walks past with Joel's baby son Frankie in his pram, he's mortified when he shares who Frankie is to them.

Gus and Anthea are later invited to the Platts to see little Frankie. But when Max leaves them alone while he pops upstairs, he is shocked to find them gone when he returns - so where have they gone, and is Frankie with them?

Meanwhile Frankie's mother Lauren Bolton is terrified when she finds out he’s been admitted to hospital and they need to run some tests. What is wrong with her baby?
