ITV I'm A Celebrity viewers call for Dean McCullough to be axed as he 'shows true colours'
BBC Radio 1 DJ Dean McCullough has annoyed fans of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! after he clashes with several campmates
by James Brinsford · The MirrorI'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! fans have vowed to have BBC Radio 1 DJ Dean McCullough as the first celebrity voted out of the jungle after they claim he has 'shown his true colours'.
This comes after Dean has clashed with a number of campmates, as well as being the celebrity that has been most frequently selected to take on the Bushtucker Trials. Viewers took to social media after the ITV show aired on Saturday, in which Dean seemed to be at the forefront of any controversial moments.
During the latest highlights from the jungle camp in Australia, Dean was seen attempting to oust McFly popstar Danny Jones from his bed. He then refused to leave his own sleeping quarters for Reverend Richard Coles, who is a late arrival in camp. Dean also had a tense exchange with Coronation Street star Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap, after not waking up to do a task in camp.
Dean remained sound asleep when the actor tried to rouse him to help Loose Women star Jane Moore with a task, which was part of the rules of the camp. Dean hit out at Alan, telling him: "Listen to me. If you're gonna wake me up, you need to give me a minute, alright? It takes a couple of minutes for my contact lenses to get back working again, alright, so you don't need to turn around to me and say 'do you not fancy it? ' ok? And then turn around and walk away."
Viewers thought that Dean's outburst was unjustified and have urged others to vote him out of the camp at the first opportunity. One upset fan wrote on social media: "Dean is just something else! ! Give up the bed for the rev. Showing his true colours here". Meanwhile, another let fans know her intentions: "Me voting to save everyone except Dean when we can start voting people out of this show".
This was a sentiment shared by others, with one posting: "The ONLY time anyone should be voting for dean is when we're voting for people to leave". Another posed a question in their haste in wanting to vote Dean out: "When can we start voting for Dean to leave asking for a friend".
The fiery clash between Dean and Alan continued with them exchanging views. Dean said: "No, no, you listen to me." Alan responded: "I've listened to you. Jane was halfway down here, that's why I went…" Dean continued: "I know. I get that but you need to give me a minute, mate." Alan said: "I didn't say it how you think I meant it, but if you've taken it that way, I apologise. [...] I don't think you're gonna listen but that's fine. I didn't wanna wake you up [...] I wasn't having a go at you."
